It's entirely up to you how many estimates you'd like to get and whether you'd prefer to speak with multiple repair shops. However, if you're going through insurance and have chosen a shop, it's best to have your insurance company work directly with them. If you have rental coverage. Check with your insurance agent or company to see how much is covered—some policies pay the full amount, while others cover only a portion. If your claim is a liability claim (the other party is at fault), their insurance is responsible for providing you with a form of transportation during repairs. If you drive a large SUV, truck, need extra seating, or commute in the mountains for work, they are also responsible for providing a comparable vehicle. Be sure to confirm all rental details with your insurance representative.
You are ultimately responsible for payment. Your insurance policy states that your insurer will cover damages to your vehicle minus any applicable deductible, which must be paid by you. You may instruct your insurance company to pay the repair shop directly, and we will bill them on your behalf for completed work. However, all balances must be paid in full before your vehicle can be released.
If a third party is responsible for payment, we will make every effort to collect from them before repairs are completed—but the responsibility for payment remains with you.
